One of their mottos or pillars is that a gentleman should always carry a pocket knife, a pencil and a Rosary.I believe carrying a Rosary is something important.  Now, I probably don’t have one on me but as I write this I realize, that has to change. I remember working with a fellow teacher who once told me she always has a Rosary in her purse.  I can’t remember how or why that came up in conversation, but what I do remember is shortly after we had this talk, a tragic accident occurred where this woman was hit by a car.  It’s a miracle she lived.  Many of her bones were broken, and I don’t think she ever came back to work.

When I heard about how bad the accident was, I recalled that Lucille (that is my former co-worker and fellow teacher’s name) always carried a Rosary.

I personally believe that Rosary kept her alive that day. And she is still living and walking again today.I know we are often tempted to think we – or our loved ones – don’t need another Rosary.

But, maybe another Rosary is exactly what we do need.

If you have ever wanted to give someone a Rosary, but felt awkward or wondered, when would be a good time or occasion to give someone a Rosary, we have a few ideas of when this would make total sense!

7 Occasions That Are Perfect to Gift a Rosary

The Rosary is an ideal gift for a Catholic Bride or Catholic Groom

All Sacraments are really a great occasion to give some a Rosary, but it’s more common to think of this gift for a Holy Communion than for Holy Matrimony.  Let’s change that!

The final battle between the Lord and the kingdom of Satan will be about Marriage and the Family.

And we know that Padre Pio indicated what is the weapon that will allow us to win! It’s been a tradition in many families to give a bride “something blue” on her wedding day.

Della Madonna Rosaries has the perfect “something blue” for that bride you love!  Della Madonna Rosaries also has two other beautiful bridal Rosaries, so if your bride already has “something blue” you can gift here a gorgeous white or light pink (milennial pink) one! The Bridal hand Rosary is a dainty sterling bridal rosary easily doubles on her wrist for the ceremony and photos.

For the groom, we highly recommend a Rosary from Our Lady’s Armory!

The Sword of Saint Michael Rosary is masculine and well-crafted.  Our Lady’s Armory also makes WWI replica rosaries and Paracord Rosaries.  As the gentleman you love is starting his journey to be the head of his own family, this gift is a gentle reminder that, “the family that prays together, stays together”.

When a friend or family member begin taking RCIA classes, give them a Rosary as a gift.

The RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults), also called the Catechumenate, is a process of initiation into the Catholic Community of Faith for persons who are experiencing a conversion in their lives and seeking either Christian baptism in the Catholic Church or full Communion with the Catholic tradition of Eucharist and Confirmation.

It is a process which enables the study of the Gospels, Catholic Christian teaching, the acceptance of Christian values and morality, the development and deepening of a life of prayer and action with the support and involvement of the local Christian community. The RCIA is more than a course of instruction. It is a process of conversion, designed to meet the unique and individual needs of the participants.

What a huge step it is to start RCIA!  Give them a Rosary to show your support and let them know they are in your prayers!

John Edwards, owner of Easter Pup Creations, was first introduced to the rosary while serving as a medic In the Army. Though, he didn’t discover its true beauty and how it could bring comfort until years later when he spent some time as a patient in the VA hospital and developed a relationship with the chaplain there. To purchase a Rosary from John Edwards, visit Easter Pup Creations and browse his work!

When a person you care about has lost a loved one, send them a Floral Rosary

When my Father-in-law passed away, I remember the funeral home gave my mother-in-law and huge catalog of funeral rosaries to look through.  I felt overwhelmed for her.  I saw entire Rosaries made out of roses and thought, I know someone who makes these ( Julia Miller, owner of Fresh Rosary).  When I mentioned that I knew someone, my sister-in-law said, “maybe I can make one”.  I should have known that was not even going to be possible, and ordered one for them.  One way to show your sympathy is to order one of these floral Rosaries and reach out to the family and simply tell them, I ordered you one of these for the funeral. It’s one less thing they feel they need to do, and it will bring them comfort on that very tough day.

When your friend mentions wanting to meditate, give them a Rosary

This weekend a group of children in our neighborhood were playing together.  The oldest was an 11 year old girl.  As time went on another 11 year old young lady joined and then, a third.  Once the third came along, her mother and I noticed that the big girls were no longer playing with the younger children.  When her mother asked why, their response was, “we’re trying to meditate”.

My response, well let’s get the Rosaries out and pray then . . . because if they want to learn how to meditate, Imma gonna teach them the Catholic way.

Now, we didn’t do that, the girls were strongly encouraged to join the other kids and all play together.  But, this brought back my own memories of teaching Introduction to Psychology and getting to that chapter of consciousness.  There is a ton a research that supports how meditation can improve your physical health, lower stress and even can help increase academic success.

The Rosary is an incredible way to meditate.  Those temporal advantages are still there when one engages in this prayer, but some incredible graces and spiritual gifts are added on as well. Meditating upon the mysteries of the Rosary is good for one’s body and soul!Share this knowledge and this prayer!
