When you Have a Mission But No Money: Do this One Thing

As a Catholic Christian, You Believe That God Has a Mission on Your Heart that is Unique and Unrepeatable

But, how do you tell the world about your mission? Hopefully, you’ve started sharing your mission with your own friends, family, and community.

Traditional ways of reaching people you do not know often require money (for example, marketing and advertising).

Let me share another way, but first, give you a little background.

I am an expert at having no money.

I never thought that we get me anywhere, until about 8 years ago.

Let me explain.

My husband and I got married when we were 30 years old. We could not wait to start a family.

And then entered the cross of infertility.

But, adoption had a special place in my heart and luckily, my husband was open to the idea.

So, we started what can be an extremely expensive journey . . .

and for a person who happens to be an expert in not having money, this was a definite challenge.

Fast forward years later . . . unfortunately I’m still an expert in having very little money.

But my husband and I have not one, not two, but THREE adopted children.

How? No we did not hit the lottery.

We networked.

We networked to raise money.

We networked in lieu of paying an adoption agency to help us network.

And most importantly, our main network method is with the Father in heaven. We prayed a lot to Him. His Mother stepped in too.

But here’s the funny thing:

I thought I was entering the online world of blogging and the world that offered help to “grow my influence” to get connected with the women who would give birth to my children.

But God was prepping me for something more.

God has used my passion – and maybe even talent- for networking to help Christians, particularly Catholic Christians, to network for Him. For His Son. For His Word.

If you have a Catholic mission, but no money: network.

Network by reaching out to other Catholics with missions similar to yours.

Network with communities and platforms and podcasts that will let the world know God gave you a mission and that mission is meant to spread like a wildfire.

Perhaps your mission involves prayer – maybe it’s a special devotion like the Rosary; or perhaps it is praying with children or journaling.

Maybe your mission involves serving pregnant women, spreading awareness about adoption, helping grieving mothers cope with loss or giving shelter to the homeless – whatever it is, networking can help!
